It’s that time of year again – but this year the Royal Mail have not only upped their prices, they’ve once again changed the way I can send my parcels.
For the past year or two I have been able to send my lightweight international packages at the airmail letter rate as opposed to small packet. This was because the Royal Mail made a slight boo boo in their pricing structure (they hadn’t included a maximum thickness in their letter rate guidelines). To cut a long story short, I was able to send packages that weighed no more than 100g using the letter rate as long as I included a piece of personal correspondence (which helpfully could be a thank you note).
Now that the new prices have been published, the Royal Mail have been able to fix their mistake and all packages that are more than 5mm thick must be sent at the small package rate.
Use Coupon Code RMSUCK for 15% off these Pink Daisy Cross Stitch Earrings!
Yes this makes sense – sending an item of jewellery at the letter rate sounds odd but it was within the old guidelines and I knew that this would be updated when the new prices were released. It’s just so frustrating. A pair of earrings weighing no more than 50g now costs almost half of the item price to send overseas. It just seems unreasonable to expect my customers to pay £3 more for postage than they had to a couple of weeks ago.
So what to do? Unfortunately this is the only reasonable method of posting my items abroad so I just have to hope that my customers will be understanding enough to fork out the extra postage costs.
As a thank you to my lovely customers I am offering a coupon code until the end of April for 15% off everything in my Etsy shop. Simply use coupon code RMSUCK at checkout. Yes it’s an immature code, but use it and enjoy!
Ok, so it’s only September but that’s only about three more pay days until Christmas – so it’s time to start shopping!
Ever since I started selling on Etsy I have beeing trying to focus on buying one of a kind and/or handmade gifts for my family whenever possible because it feels that bit more special. However, this means that I need to be organised because many handmade items are made to order and although Etsy is an international selling community, the majority of its sellers are from the US meaning posting times are much longer as well.
One of my latest creations – perfect for keeping warm whilst doing your Christmas shopping!
I’ve been stocking up my shop all summer whilst things have been quiet in the hope that the run up to Christmas will bring me more sales. In order to try to encourage people to be as organised as I am (or at least trying to be!) I have decided to offer free postage to my UK customers between now and the end of October. This is a great way for people to save a bit of money during this expensive time of the year and get those first pressies bought before the mad rush begins.
If you are in the UK and would like to take advantage of this offer – simply visit my Etsy Shop and use Coupon Code “FREEPOST12” at checkout (without the quotation marks) and you will not have to pay any postage costs!
Remember – you have until 31 October to take advantage of this fab offer!
My goal was to reach 200 Twitter followers and have a sale to celebrate – and I would like to thank all of my followers for helping me achieve this!
You can now use Coupon Code SUMMER2012 for 20% off EVERYTHING in my Etsy shop!
I’ve just finished stocking up and achieved another of my goals – to reach 100 listings so there is plenty to choose from!
And finally, I always love to receive custom orders so for the duration of the sale I will apply the discount to any custom orders received – so pop on over and send me a message – I would love to help!
